Like?

Have you ever stopped and actually thought about our digital society? Have you ever thought about how ridiculous it is that people put priority on their texts rather than the people sitting in front of them? Or that we have to document every single moment of our lives and post it in a public forum for it to be real? Or that to feel valued we have to post some witty remark and have nine people say they "like" it? How superficial is this? We hardly ever walk up to our friends and say, I like that brave thing you did, or that clever remark you made. And how many of us have run out of time to actually sit down and chat with someone face to face? Have you forgotten what the world is like outside your screen? How the breeze feels on your face, or the grass under your toes? Or is there an app for that now? Do we know what real laughter from a group of people sounds like? When was the last time you hugged someone, just because? Let's not box ourselves behind our screens; instead, let's reach out, open our eyes, and experience life for what it is.
